The materials

The performance of a tool is determined by a combination of factors, but the material used to construct it represents the cornerstone.
UFS uses the best super-quick high Cobalt content
(5% and over, or with high Vanadium content) steels in addition to steels made from sintered powders.

The latter, K series in our catalogue, has a very even structure, with a fine distribution of carbides, resulting in a reduced risk of chipping, increased tempering for excellent performances on high resistance materials.

HSSE steel
with 5% Cobalt used for materials to be worked with R<800 N/mm2

HSSE-P steel
with 8% Cobalt with 800<1000 N/mm2

HSSE-V steel
with a high Vanadium content with 800<1000 N/mm2

PM steel
sintered with a high Cobalt content used for materials to be worked with R> 1000 N/mm2
