The UFS technical brochure presents a range of taps designed to ensure high performance when tapping stainless steels and corrosion-resistant alloys used across a wide range of industrial applications.

It provides a practical overview of UFS solutions for stainless steel machining, developed to ensure process stability, controlled chip evacuation and consistent thread quality, even in the most demanding tapping operations.

Cutting taps are available in DIN 371 and DIN 376 versions, with broad coverage of M, MF, UNC, UNF and ISO 228 (GAS) threads, ideal for CNC machine applications and series production.

The solutions are made from HSSV3 and PM3, with advanced coatings such as TXC, VS and AHI, designed to increase wear resistance and optimize tool life when threading stainless steel. Roll-form taps (P-ROLL) are also available, with and without axial internal lubrication (FOR), for applications requiring high thread strength and chip-free machining.

The range is available in the LINE series, offering an excellent quality/price ratio, and in the TOP series, dedicated to high-productivity applications and particularly demanding working conditions.

By scanning the QR codes shown in the technical tables for each code/product, users can directly access the corresponding page on the UFS B2B portal, where they can check stock availability, detailed technical data and identify alternative or complementary products.
A tool designed for those looking for speed, precision and professional technical support in stainless steel machining, backed by UFS expertise in the threading tool sector.

V24/V25 VS

Spiral point taps for through holes. For a depth of up to 3XD with specific geometry and coating for stainless steel. The chip flow corresponds to the direction of feed of the tool. Suitable for stainless steel types 2.1 and 2.2, as well as mild and magnetic steels and construction steels groups 1.1 and 1.2. The innovative VS coating, an evolution of classic steam oxide treatment, improves chip flow, reduced welding tendency and increased finishing.

E92/E93 VS

Spiral flute taps 45° for blind holes. The special helical geometry (CSC) prevents bird nesting and ensures effective chip evacuation, making it suitable for threading blind and deep holes up to 3xD. Suitable for stainless steel types 2.1 and 2.2, as well as mild and magnetic steels and construction groups 1.1 and 1.2. The innovative VS coating, an evolution of classic steam oxide treatment, improves chip flow, reduced welding tendency and increased finishing.

V24/V25 TXC

Straight flutes with spiral point taps for through holes and thread depths up to 3xD. They are designed exclusively for through-hole applications. The chip flow follows the tool feed direction. Suitable for stainless steels, including the more demanding grade 2.4, they stand out thanks to the high-performance TXC coating and the distinctive blue ring.

V82/V83 TXC • V82/V83 FOR-TXC

48° spiral taps for blind holes. Suitable for deep blind-hole applications thanks to their excellent chip evacuation capacity. Available with or without internal coolant. Designed for stainless steels grades 2.1, 2.2, and 2.3, they are distinguished by the high-performance TXC coating and the characteristic blue ring.

K24X/K25X TXC

Spiral point taps for through holes, PM3 sintered steel. A tool family designed for applications on stainless steels and thread depths up to 3xD. Suitable exclusively for through holes, the chip flow follows the tool feed direction. Recommended for stainless steels, including the more demanding grade 2.4, it stands out thanks to the high-performance TXC coating and the distinctive blue ring.

K82X/K83X TXC

48° spiral taps for blind holes, PM3 sintered steel, horizontal taper IT (INOX Tapered), TXC coating. The high-helix design ensures particularly effective chip evacuation. Characterized by high productivity, they are suitable for applications on stainless steels, including the more demanding grade 2.4. The chips are evacuated in the opposite direction to the tool feed, while the horizontal taper prevents chip entanglement during the tap's return stroke, reducing the risk of chipping on the rear threads.

P2CC T

Roll taps with coolant grooves for blind and through holes, tolerances 6HX, 2BX, ISO228X. Based on the principle of plastic deformation, they do not produce chips and create highly durable threads. Recommended for steel, stainless steel, aluminium alloys with Si content <10%, and copper. Generally suitable for medium-strength materials, with an elongation coefficient above 10% and a tensile strength Rm <850 N/mm². The required torque is 1.5–2 times higher compared to cutting taps. The coolant grooves facilitate lubricant flow, ensuring improved lubrication and heat dissipation.

P3CC T

Like the previous P2CC but with 6GX tolerance, therefore for applications where subsequent galvanizing treatment is expected, or similar, which require a higher tolerance than 6HX.

P2CC AHI • P2CC LH-T

Roll taps with coolant grooves for blind and through holes, tolerance 6HX. Based on the principle of plastic deformation, they do not produce chips and generate highly durable threads. Recommended for steel, stainless steel, aluminum alloys with Si content < 10%, and copper. Generally suitable for medium-strength materials with an elongation coefficient above 10% and tensile strength Rm < 850 N/mm². The required torque is 1.5–2 times higher compared to cutting taps. The coolant grooves facilitate lubricant flow, ensuring improved lubrication and heat dissipation. Available with next-generation AHI coating and also in left-hand thread (LH) versions.
