NICKEL
The UFS technical brochure is dedicated to families of taps for nickel and nickel-based alloys, designed to ensure precision and reliability in the threading of high-strength superalloys, ideal for aeronautical applications.
A practical tool that brings together the most high-performing solutions for difficult-to-machine materials, where chip control, process stability and high wear resistance are essential. The range includes cutting taps for through holes and blind holes, featuring a 10° left-hand helix for through holes and a 10° right-hand helix for blind holes. They are also available with J profile (general use in industrial applications) and MJ profile (developed for aeronautical applications), with a rounded outer diameter for specific applications.
Manufactured in PM3 sintered steel with high-hardness TiCN coating, these superalloy threading tools are suitable for machining Inconel 718, Monel, Hastelloy and other nickel alloys, up to tensile strengths of 1600 N/mm², ensuring high thread precision, torsional strength and extended tool life even under the most demanding conditions.
Available in the TOP line, featuring advanced surface treatments and high-performance PVD coatings, they represent a professional solution for aeronautical tapping and for threading high-strength alloys on CNC machines.
Thanks to the QR codes included in the technical tables, users can quickly access the UFS B2B portal to check availability, consult detailed technical data and identify alternative or complementary tools.
The ideal tool to combine precision, efficiency and innovation in the machining of nickel alloys, backed by the guaranteed quality of UFS.
K52 NI-CT
10° left-handed helix taps for through holes, PM3 sintered steel, ideal for aeronautical applications on nickel alloys.
The left-handed helix facilitates chip extraction in the same direction as the tap’s feed; furthermore, the absence of the reduced diameter section behind the thread (neck) enhances the tool’s strength. They are suitable for tapping through holes up to 3xD. TiCN coating.

K42 NI-CT
10° right-hand helix taps for blind holes, PM3 sintered steel, ideal for aeronautical applications on nickel alloys. They are suitable for tapping medium-depth blind holes. The low-twist helix with reduced helix, the absence of the reduced diameter section behind the thread (neck), gives the tool greater strength when working with difficult-to-cut materials like nickel.
